For more than 15 years, Dan and Dawn Bihary have shared a passion for creating places that invite people to stop, look a little closer, and discover a story.

What began as a creative project has grown into a partnership that brings together two different perspectives and a shared love of detail. Dan's background in architecture, design, modeling, and construction naturally draws him toward the buildings, landscapes, structure, and technical challenges of a project. Dawn brings an equally important eye for composition, color, presentation, and the small details that give a scene its warmth and personality.

Together, they have developed a way of working that is both practical and imaginative. They research the setting, build the environment, create the details, arrange the figures, and then use lighting and composition to bring everything together. Just as importantly, they enjoy the process of discovering what a scene can become.

Their work with the Lorain Historical Society Crèche has become the clearest expression of that partnership. Over the years, the display has grown from a collection of figures into an immersive world—one filled with architecture, landscape, people, occupations, and small moments of everyday life. Their goal has never been simply to build a beautiful display. It is to create something that makes people curious enough to look closer and wonder about the stories taking place within it.

For Dan and Dawn, the most rewarding moments are often the simplest ones: watching someone discover a tiny detail they hadn't noticed before, hearing a visitor ask a question, or seeing a child become completely absorbed in the scene.

They believe that every place has a story, every detail has a purpose, and everyone has a story worth telling.
